SPARPART sell 6061, 6063, 5083, and 5086 alloys in extruded aluminum piping in the tempers of T6, T6511, O, H32, and T52. We also carry a drawn aluminum pipe product in 6061 alloy with a T6 temper.
Due to the diversity of its properties, extruded aluminum tube is used in a variety of industries/markets.
ALUMINUM PIPES INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS:
Transportation industry | Military and Defense |
Marine industry | Electrical bus conductors |
Solar and renewable Energy | Compressed gas storage |
Building and construction (both commercial and residential) |
ALUMINIUM ALLOY DESIGNATIONS:
The aluminum industry has created a system using a four-digit numerical designation to identify wrought aluminum alloys. The first digit indicates the major alloying element. The second digit indicates whether there was a modification in the basic alloy. The third and fourth digit indicates the specific alloy. The following represent the various groups:
1XXX | Aluminum 99% or greater |
---|---|
2XXX | Copper – major alloying element |
3XXX | Manganese – major alloying element |
5XXX | Magnesium – major alloying element |
6XXX | Magnesium and silicon – major alloying elements |
7XXX | Zinc -major alloying element |
5086 Aluminum Pipe
High strength magnesium alloyed aluminum primarily used in the marine industry.
6061 Aluminum Pipe
This magnesium and silicon alloyed aluminum product is a good all-purpose alloy.
6063 Aluminum Pipe
This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and weld- ability.
5083 Aluminum Pipe
This alloy also has good weld ability characteristics for fabricating vessels
